Magnetic characteristics

Magnetic induction measurement steps

We perform our measurements using a standard gauss-meter MAGSYS (a transversal flexible probe with the thickness of 0.75 mm is used) in the point of the structurally highest magnetic induction level – on the place where pole extensions are situated or, in other words, in the lowest point of the magnetic circuit arch. Therefore, by moving the probe in the direction perpendicular to the magnet axis, we are finding the highest magnetic induction value. We perform the measurement here.

Repeat the measurement for three times, and calculate the average magnetic induction value.

The measurement may be carried out either in Tesla, or Gauss units.

Unit recalculation: 1 T = 10000 G

Magnetic separator tear-off force measurement steps

This measurement is performed using a polished steel etalon with the diameter of 10 mm and height of 20 mm, manufactured using 11.523 steel. Attach the etalon to a tensometer, and make its fixation to the magnetic separator. The measurement is carried out in the point characterized by the highest tear-off force – on the place where pole extensions are situated or, , in the lowest point of the magnetic circuit arch.

After the etalon is attached, keep on pulling the tensometer out of the separator with an uninterrupted, fluent movement, until the time when the etalon gets separated from the separator. The force at which the etalon was torn off, is recorded. The measurement is repeated three times and the average tear-off force is calculated.

Unit recalculation: 10 N = ca 1 kg.

Measurement error

Magnetic induction measurement is performed with the tolerance of ± 500 G.

Tear-off force measurement is carried out with the tolerance of ± 10 N.

Measurement stability

We hereby guarantee the stability of the device magnetic parameters in cases the maximum working temperature of the magnet is not exceeded.

Magnetic induction and tear-off force levels

Magnetic separators are manufactured on 6 magnetic induction and tear-off force levels. We state both of the parameters as measured on both the magnetic core and stainless steel pipe surface. Stainless steel pipe functions as a magnet protection against damaging; the element is in a contact with the material separated.

  • Magnetic induction on the core: 10.400 G
  • Tear-off force on the core: 133 N
  • Magnetic induction on the coat: 7.400 G
  • Tear-off force on the coat: 100 N

Level 2

  • Magnetic induction on the core: 13.000 G
  • Tear-off force on the core: 100 N

Magnetic induction and tear-off force levels in magnetic rods

Magnetic rods are produced on three magnetic induction and tear-off force levels. The values are different in respect to the rods with the diameters of 25 and 30 mm. Both parameters are announced as measured on a surface of the stainless steel pipe protecting the magnets against damaging and being in a contact with the material separated.
